Sage holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Education from UNC-Greensboro. She began working with children as a middle school teacher after graduation. After five years in the classroom, she transitioned to an In-home Family Services worker with the Department of Social Services, where she worked with families for 17 years. Following her time at DSS, Sage became an advocate at a Sexual Assault Resource Center, working with both children and adults who had experienced trauma. In 2022, she joined the Southmountain team to continue this important work.
Sage loves her role as a Family Advocate. She takes great joy in guiding children when they first arrive at the center and is deeply committed to the mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center. Watching children grow, heal, and eventually thrive after experiencing trauma is incredibly rewarding for her. Sage is trained in the Child First and RADAR Protocols of Forensic Interviewing.
Her faith is an important part of her life, and she sees her work as an extension of that faith.
